Sierra Corporation Develops Centralized Digital Control Center for Friendship Public Charter Schools

Falls Church, Va., Jul. 10th, 2007 – Sierra Corporation, an Information Technology solutions provider, announced today their imminent deployment of a complete student and faculty management system for Friendship Schools' five campuses.

Friendship Public Charter Schools came to Sierra with the goal of creating a centralized, secure IT infrastructure with which to manage their file servers, BlackBerry clients, faculty and student logins, e-mail, and student records. Friendship Schools needed a solution that was easy to deploy, easy to manage, and above all, highly secure.

Sierra Corporation's keeps itself ahead of the curve by rigorously testing new technology as it emerges, so they were in a knowledgeable position to deploy a network using the new and improved Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and Active Directory technologies. The massively popular BlackBerry server software was combined with custom Sharepoint code to give the Friendship Schools family ubiquitous, constant connections between faculty and staff at all five of their campuses.

Sierra's extensive "back-end" technical knowledge and experience with Microsoft Exchange Server, Active Directory domain controllers, and BlackBerry clients allowed them to go the extra mile beyond merely installing software, to creating a tightly integrated, uniform, easy to use system to unite Friendship Schools' teachers and students in ways that would have been impossible just five years ago.
