MailTips Features
Microsoft has released the new Microsoft Office 2010, which includes the 2010 version of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and other MS office suite components. One of the new features included in Outlook 2010 is “MailTips,” which provides the recipients availability—it will let the sender know which recipients who are Out of Office even before starting to type the email. The other cool feature of MailTips is that it will alert the sender as to how many recipients there are in a named distribution list and whether the mailbox you are sending to is full. MailTips will also alert the sender if the emails are being sent to an invalid recipient, i.e., someone who is no longer with the company. It will also send an alert when composing a message that exceeds the size limits of the organization.
In order to use the MailTips feature in Outlook 2010, the sender's email hosting needs to be on Exchange 2010 and the Exchange administrator must enable the MailTips option on the Server.

Security Risk
Security Risk from Multifunction Photocopiers
Since 2002 all commercially used multifunction copiers have hard drives installed in them—just like in your PC. These drives are there in order to facilitate scan to disk folder functions, electronic management of documents and to store fax information. Even though these photocopiers have an important purpose, they pose a security risk—these drives are not usually formatted before discarding the copier. The data stored on the hard drives embedded in the copier can easily be extracted by connecting them to a PC using regular hard drive cables. This makes sensitive company information that was either scanned or faxed accessible to unwanted parties. Due to this security flaw, it is imperative that the embedded hard drive in the multifunction copiers, which is either leased or owned, be formatted before they are sent back or discarded. As a precaution, PC hard drives should also be reformatted and over-written before discarding old PCs and servers.

Also, the built-in speakers tend to be hard to hear from the back of a room.

Internet Fraud Alert Program
In the modern world, where the Internet is everything, security has always been an issue. In view of these concerns Microsoft has developed a centralized program called “Internet Fraud Alert” with the help of several security and consumer groups. By using Microsoft’s Internet Fraud Alert technology, companies will get reports when user accounts, passwords, and credit card numbers are compromised. Major financial companies, schools, and many small to large businesses will benefit from Microsoft’s program.
According to Microsoft, “Internet Fraud Alert is a partnership between Microsoft and the US-based National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance (NCFTA).” NCFTA will manage the alert program and companies or partners will come to NCFTA to share information while maintaining privacy and data integrity. NCFTA has stated that “it will provide an array of highly specialized products and services that help its partners reduce current and future fraud.”
The Internet Fraud Alert program is supported by various organizations including Accuity, the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG), eBay, the Federal Trade Commission and PayPal.
